• Easy-to-grow, hardy deciduous shrub with abundant rose-pink tubular flowers in late spring to early summer (May–June), attractive to bees and other pollinators.
• Graceful arching branches and green foliage; suitable for borders, informal hedges, cottage gardens, or as a specimen.
• Fully hardy across the UK, low-maintenance once established, and tolerant of a wide range of conditions.

Key planting points

• When: Best in late autumn or spring (avoid frozen or waterlogged soil).
• Position: Full sun to partial shade (best flowering in sun); sheltered or exposed sites both fine.
• Soil: Any well-drained, fertile soil (chalk, clay, loam or sand; neutral to slightly alkaline preferred). Avoid very dry or waterlogged ground. Improve with well-rotted compost or manure before planting.
• How: Dig a hole 1.5–2× the rootball size; plant at the same depth as in the bare-root plant. Backfill, firm, and water thoroughly. Space 1.5–2.5 m apart (or 1–1.5 m for hedging). 
• Aftercare: Water regularly until established. Mulch in spring. Prune after flowering (cut back flowered stems by about one-third and remove some oldest stems at the base). No special winter protection needed.
