Planting Guide

• Best time: Autumn to Spring for bare-root plants.
• Site: Full sun to partial shade; tolerates most soils, including chalky or damp, but prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich conditions.
• Spacing: 1.5-3 metres apart for bushes.
• How to plant: Dig a hole twice the root width; add compost if soil very poor; plant at original depth; water thoroughly.
• Care: Keep moist in first year; mulch to retain moisture; minimal feeding needed; prune hard in late winter/early spring to limit size or every 2-4 years to maintain vigour.
• Notes: Very low-maintenance once established; self-fertile but multiple plants improve cropping.
