Planting Guide

• Best time: Plant bare-root specimens in the dormant season (November to March/April) for optimal establishment
• Site: Full sun preferred for best flowering and hips; tolerates partial shade and north-facing spots
• Soil: Moist but well-drained, moderately fertile and humus-rich; highly adaptable to poor, chalky, or heavy soils
• Spacing for hedging: 30–45 cm apart in a single row; mix with hawthorn or blackthorn for structure
• Planting steps: Dig a hole twice the root width, firm soil, water well, and mulch to retain moisture
