• Semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub (grey-green leaves with white undersides; may drop some foliage in hard winters).
• Attractive pink-tinged white flowers in late spring/early summer (bee-friendly).
• Abundant orange-scarlet berries in autumn/winter (excellent for birds).
• Tough, hardy, low-maintenance, drought-tolerant once established, and suitable for coastal/exposed sites, pollution, and most soils. 
• Ideal for informal hedging, screens, borders or specimen use; reaches 2.5–4 m height and spread.

Planting advice

• Timing: November to March (dormant season), while soil is workable (not frozen or waterlogged). Plant as soon as possible after delivery.
• Site: Full sun to partial shade (best flowering/berries in sun); any well-drained soil (chalk, clay, loam or sand; acid to alkaline). Avoid permanently wet ground.
• Preparation: Keep roots moist at all times). Dig a hole twice as wide as the root spread and deep enough so the nursery soil mark sits at ground level. Optionally mix in well-rotted compost. 
• Planting: Spread roots out naturally, backfill with soil, firm gently, and water thoroughly. For hedging, space 3 plants per metre (approx. 30–40 cm apart) in a single row.
• Aftercare: Water regularly in the first growing season (especially dry spells). Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Minimal pruning needed (light trim after berries if shaping is required). Once established, very little ongoing care.
